Colegiul Tehnic Danubiana Roman (“Danubiana” Technical College Roman) has succeeded in creating, with the help of some valuable people, the image of a school which offers, together with a distinguished education, the perspective of the pupils’ personal development and of its graduates’ social and professional integration.
There are 1380 students attending this school.
The majority of students, about 70 percent, are rural residents, coming from the rural areas of the Neamt County, while the rest of 30 percent are urban.
The students from college classes learning here spring from various family backgrounds. Leaving aside those who come from normal, well-organized, emotionally and financially solid families, there are many students who confront with numerous hardships.
Thus, some of them come from disorganized families or mono-parental families. Others are supported by relatives or acquaintances because their parents are working abroad. All these reasons, individually or combined, make us have to fight against some students’ intention of abandoning school as well as against some parents’ decisions of not letting their children continue attending school.
We strongly believe that the involvement in the Erasmus+ strategic partnership is a good chance for our students from high school classes to widen their cultural horizons and to increase their learning abilities and awareness of the necessity of studying foreign languages.
Responsible for the programme: Nadia Circu (coordinator); teacher of Physics and ICT- Masters degree in Biofuels, Biotechnologies, with a grant from NASA Educational Resource Center and Green Boot Camp- USA and now eTwinning and Scientix Ambassador for the next 3 years in STEM education and for three times MIE Expert.
We are eTwinning School and Microsoft School.
The Romanian team will consist of: teachers of English, Mathematics, Physics, Art, Social Science, Computer Science, all teachers with first degree and with a great experience in their field and known for their results in student learning and school competition results at county and national level.
This project will improve our teachers’ integrated STEAM skills and strengthen our students’ inspiration and creativity. This Erasmus+ experience will increase European dimension of our school community with many possibilities to exchange practices with people from different cultural contexts.
Not only could we share our expertise in STEAM, but also we could enhance our skills in other STEAM areas. And, more importantly, our students will get deep insight about STEAM careers.
