What is the topic of our project?

Our topic is:
„Promoting STEAM Career“ Using the term “STEAM“, for three years we are dealing with the subjects of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

There is a growing need in the world to produce more skilled laborers in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
In fact, STEM job growth in the past 10 years is three times that of any other field in EU.

If we want to support growing technological innovation, then it is important to increase the amount of positive exposures and experiences to STEM fields for PK-12 students.
There is a trend in adding the arts to STEM and making it STEAM.

STEAM is important because it helps teachers incorporate multiple disciplines at the same time and promotes learning experiences that allow students to explore, question, research, discover, and exercise innovative building skills.

Including the arts in the STEM disciplines is a natural fit because of STEAM’s emphasis on creativity and design. Taking this trend into consideration and to fill the gap at the same time in our environments with international partnership, we have designed our project: ‘STEAM Jobs’. The main aim of our project is to increase motivation and interest for students to pursue STEAM-related career.

Getting more girls interested in STEAM disciplines is another point of our project. 6 partners are involved in this project with approximately 200-directly, 2000- indirectly students aged between 14-18 and about 70 teachers and educators with different experience, knowledge, beliefs, but common educational ideals.

“When you take technology
and
mix it up with art,
you always come up
with
something innnovative.”
