Gölcük Fen Lisesi has begun teaching in 2012-2013 Educational Year. It’s the most outstanding and successful school of the town as it place its students by placement examination.
It facilitates education with 55 teachers, 562 students, 20 classrooms, 1sports hall, 3science labs, 1 robotics classroom, 1 music classroom, 1 arts classroom,1 library, 1 dining hall and 1 sickroom. Also it has a dormitory which began facilitating in 2017-2018.
Educational year with 50 female and 50 male student capacity.
The main target of the school is to raise students as humans who have comprehended the importance of science, behaviour within Atatürk’s thought system, care about both global and national ethics, successful, innovator and wellbehaved. As being in a Science High School, our teachers’ sufficiency is at high level and all of them are experts in their branches.
All the teachers have university or bachelor’s degree, they have teaching experiences between 15 and 35 years in their branches. The teachers of the school are appointed to the school by a proficiency exam like their students. They are completely aware of self-improvement, the importance of being successful in science for Turkey’s future and they work hard to raise this awareness to the students.
Our Projects:
• In the project “The Students Are Learning EU” which Turkish National Education Ministry supported in 2016, our school ranked the first in town, then in the province and got the right to compete in the national final and was the 4th at national level.
• The music groups of school have attended “the Fizzy Inter- High School Music Contest” for three years.
• The students got a degree in the knowledge Contests of Kocaeli Province National Education Directorate organizes every year.
• In 2018-2019 Educational Year the school debate team was the champion in “the English Debate Contest” within Kocaeli Province High Schools.
• Golcuk Science High School Robotics Team has attended an international robotics contest within High Schools in İstanbul Province.
• Every year , Golcuk Science High School students organise a charity event and they donate some of the money to LOSEV-a non-govenrtmental organization which cares for children with cancer and the other part of the monet to Kids Cancer Department of Kocaeli University Medicine Faculty Hospital. And this annual charity event helps our students more conscious about cancer.
